Videopoints is a lecture video management portal that is now available to UH and for other educational use. In addition to support for uploading, managing, and streaming lecture videos, the Videopoints portal provides a number of unique features to allow easy access to the content of a lecture video. These include automated division of a lecture video into topical segments and summarization of the resulting segments, as well as captioning and keyword search.

The research underlying Videopoints was conducted under the ICS Indexed Captioned Searchable) Videos project and encompasses image analysis, machine learning, and natural language processing. We thank the National Science Foundation, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)- Technology Workforce Development Grant Program, University Of Houston College of Natural Science & Mathematics, University Of Houston Educational Technology & University Outreach and University Of Houston College of Natural Science & Mathematics Information Technology for their generous support. We are also open to collaboration with academia and industry.
